The NXT chair is designed
by the Danish designer Peter Karpf, associate of Verner Panton and Arne
Jacobson. It is one of three commercially produced designs from his Voxia
collection, a line first conceived in the early 1960s. The collection is a
functional, sculptural and eco-friendly achievement that was 30 years in the
making. Moulded and shaped from a single sheet of moulded plywood, each stage
of the production process addresses the stringent demands of effective
sustainability. The clean looking NXT chair comes in a variety of six colours
and is easily stackable.

Resources
The chair is made of beech plywood. The beech is sourced from a sustainably managed forest close to the production plant.
The NXT consists of one single piece of laminated beech. One piece that shapes all functional elements; back, seat, legs, resilience, etc. Thin, three dimensional, curved surfaces replace the traditionally large consumption of materials and energy in production.
The back, seat and legs are produced and combined in one continuous process. Because of the planned veneer pattern, the cut-away wood waste is minimal.
The simple design makes this a product with a very long life span. The strength of the chair has been tested and is guaranteed.
The material is easy to grind and can be re-used for fibreboards and insulation.
