The lightweight Magis Air Chair is sturdy, stackable and suitable for
indoor and outdoor use. The handle in the seat isn’t just for quick handling,
but also to drain rain water. This affordable designer chair is available in a
variety of colours and fits perfectly with the other Air furniture by designer
Jasper Morrison.

Magis is the brand that since its start in 1976 has given a novel twist to domestic design. The company makes design furniture from both traditional materials and plastic. Depending on the application, plastic is often the best solution. The main advantage is the immense cutback on production processes. Good design combined with the use of high-tech machines, allows for the production of a ready to use product in one production step. Magis teams up with various well-known designers, but also provides beginning designers with chances to launch their careers.

The chair is made of one piece of polypropylene and reinforced with short glass fibers. It is possible to recycle this chair.
The interesting thing about this design is the hollow legs of the chair. This is achieved by the air blowing into the frame during the production , and the production of the chair doesn’t need a lot of materials (only on the outside of the tubes). In this way a lot of material saved.
The chair is made in one production step: injection molding. There are no pieces assembled, cut or edited. This way the energy and time to manufacture a product is greatly reduced.
Polypropyleen staat bekend voor zijn beperkte slijtage. In combinatie met glasvezel bekomt men een product dat zeer degelijk is. De eenvoudige vormgeving maakt dat dit een product is met een lange esthetische levensduur.
Het materiaal kan eenvoudig vermalen worden en gebruikt worden voor het spuitgieten van een ander product.
