The Aeron production process uses up low amounts of raw materials and energy. Over half of each chair is recycled materials, and almost the entire chair - 94% - is recyclable.

Measurements : Standard size in this web shop is size B. Fur people taller than 1m90 and a weight above 110kg, we recommend size C. For people smaller than 1m60 and a weight under 60kg, we recommend size A. Nevertheless, about 90% of all sold Aeron chairs are a size B.

Over half of each Aeron chair is recycled materials, and almost the entire chair - 94% - is recyclable. The aluminium parts are manufactured of recycled cans and the material used for the frame and seat is mostly recycled PET bottles. Certified to MBDC Cradle to Cradle Silver, Aeron is GREENGUARD certified.
The back of the Aeron is in ‘membrane’ upholstery, that offers a better seating comfort because of its breathing capacities. The membrane replaces the typical foam filling, which means a sizable material reduction.
The production process is cradle-to-cradle certified. Herman Miller manufactures with the best techniques available and has introduced the Perfect Vision initiative. This is a strategy to achieve a wide range of corporate sustainability targets, including zero waste to landfills, zero hazardous waste generation, and a carbon neutral operational footprint by the year 2020.
Because of the innovative choice to use a membrane upholstery, the environmental issues around the production of foam are avoided.
The Aeron has a timeless design and was developed to last 30 years. The parts most loaded and used can be easily replaced and recycled.
