Resources
It’s a single material construction out of polypropylene. The construction ensures the correct processing of the polypropylene, which results in a pure end product.
Bloom is a simple, lightweight design with a minimum of components, which results in a huge material cutback. The design is optimized to minimize the loss of sheet material during production.
The production process is brought down to a bare minimum, which means that less energy is required. Seen as it’s a single material construction, it can simply be cut out of a sheet. The folding is done by the end-user.
The product has to be folded, no harmful glues are required. Emissions caused by the generation of power are lowered due to the energy reduction during the production process.
This lamp shade was specially designed to be used with energy saving lamps. The company wants to stimulate people to trade in their old bulbs for new, energy saving types.
The product and its packaging are developed to be fully absorbed into a new life cycle at end of life. Future production of new materials and depletion of raw materials is again a bit further away.
